    Hi folks,
I currently us my DV 78 for both HT and 2 ch duties. I beginning to get the itch to upgrade for CD playback.

I wondering how well the DV78 would function as a transport to a DAC such as the Benchmark DAC1?

Would I be better of spending the ~$900 on a dedicated CDP (such as a CD73 or 192) versus the DV78 / Benchmark combo?

Also, I assume both the coax digital and optical out on the DV78 are active at the same time...so can connect one to my HT pre-pro for DVD's and send the other to the DAC. Correct?

    Thanks in advance!

What amps are you using to connect the 78 to?

I'm running Odyssey Audio Extreme Mono's into Martin Logan Ascent i's. I'm also looking at 2ch pre amps too. I guess my lead candidate is the Odyssey Audio Tempest. However, in the short term I'd probably run the transport / DAC back into my HT pre-pro, which is a Rotel RSP-1066.
