Just got the machine this afternoon. Lovely bit of kit. Will try it out in anger this evening with the projector via component connections. Will try it out tomorrow with HDMI to projector when cable arrives. Just in time for the Star Wars boxset. It also appears to have newer software onboard it, version 5.10.

Hooked up my DV29 with a 10 metre HDMI lead and a HDMI-DVI adapter to my XV-Z201 and the picture is stunning. It almost looks 3 dimensional. Watched the Two Towers Extended Edition on it last night and kept seeing things going on in the backround and other little details I'd never noticed before. If you don't already own this player and a digital projector then you should.

On a similar subject if anyone is looking for a cheap Arcam DV27A in silver we (Sevenoaks Edinburgh: 0131 2297267) are selling our demo model for £1200. It comes with full 5 year warranty and has only been out of its box for about 3 months as we only got the FMJ account then.

    Chris.

Sounds pretty good so far but have not tested it playing any music yet particularly DVD-A. Most of my music is on cd and therefore I tend to use the CD33 for that. Movie soundtracks sound sublime, very easy on the ear and yet very detailed.

My spies tell me it's is actually a surprising improvement in sound quality over a DV27a. I thought the DV27a was pretty cool so I guess Ii may sell my DV79 and trade up......I can see an ebay binge coming on to raise some dosh.
