Hi,

Is there a way of adjusting the vertical postion of the output. With NTSC 2.35:1 discs, I notice the black bar at the top of the screen is smaller than the one at the bottom. With PAL discs, the image is vertically centred. Can this be adjusted in a hidden service menu?

BTW, my DV79 (with the same display) has a vertically centered image for both PAL & NTSC! It appears as though the FMJ machine hasn't been setup as stringently!

Regards,
Ian

Ihan,
This should not happen- both DV79 and DV29 are set up to have correct V position in all modes.
Is your display 16:9 or 4:3?
What have you got 'TV system' (page 2 of setup menu) set to?
What is 'TV shape' set to?
Are you using analogue or HDMI?

Hi Engineer,

My sincere apologies; it looks like I have to eat humble pie here. I've just checked the DV79 with the same disc, and there is an identically sized vertical shift upwards with that as well.

So it is more than likely that it is my Panasonic TH50PHD7 which has the vertical shift with NTSC rather than the player (unless both players are at fault which is highly unlikely).

Mental note to oneself: Please check facts before reporting a fault :lesson:

Sorry for any inconvenience caused,
Ian
