Looking at VCDHELP.COM Click on DVD Hacks ask for ARCAM you will notice that the hack seems to be the same on all the DVDs listed.

Just to clarify for anyone else out there who is wondering how to do this.

1. Turn on DV137
2. Open disc tray
3. Press '1111' on remote
4. Press' 13' on remote
5. Power down DV137
6. Power On DV137
7. Press '4792' on remote'
6. Display should now tell you, amongst other things, that the region is set to ' Multi Region'.
7. Your DV137 is now multi region and ready to use.

What happened to this license wise?
Originally, the DVD license didn't allow multi region players just like that, but then for a while players were modified to do multi region, and now can either buy them like that or convince them to be multi-region by just giving the right code..

Is a preconfigured multi-region player more expensive than a player with limited regional support?

The 1111 then 13 hack does not work on my 137. I have firmware 2.03.

On the "Engineer's Menu" after pressing 4792, the cursor keys don't work.

Is there anything else I can do?

Get the firmware updated first. You should have done this ages ago.

The remote hack listed should work on all firmware versions, but get the firmware updated first and foremost.

The current firmware fixes a lot of issues and also reinstates multi-channel SACD.

So do I take it back to the dealer?

I now have upgraded the firmware to 3.01

The multiregion hack still does not work :(

After pressing 1111 - there is no menu or anything. I continue with 13 then close the drawer and power off (I have also tried powering off without closing the drawer, and have tried it with disks in and without), all same result.

Pressing 4792 shows me a region 02 player, region 1 disks will not play.

Am I being stupid here and missing out a step??

Any suggestions anyone?

All you need to do is the following:

1. Turn on DV137
2. Open disc tray
3. Press '1111' on remote
4. Press '13' on remote

Do not wait for a menu after '1111' just press '13' straight afterwards. In fact just press them all in a row, '111113'.

 Thank you. I think I was waiting between the 1111 and 13. Now works a treat.

Works fine here too on the DV-139 (was making the same mistake myself ).

I presume, that the DV-137 and DV-139 actually use the same firmware, just varying in the digital boards plugged into them for Ausio and Video DACs? In which case, we have the 2.03 firmware. If so would it be worth upgrading to the latest firmware, if possible on the 139?

I'm resurrecting an old thread (I know) but just done the hack to my DV137.

When you press 4792 is it right mine should say ABT102 De-interlacer Board not fitted?

Is that whats on the DV139?

Yep that's only for the DV139. They all use the same software but differ in hardware.
