Just wondering if someone could advise me on on a good dvd recorder?

I'm specifically looking for an easy way to transfer my DV camcorder recordings to DVD or VCD, - have already tried going through my PC but find it time consuming with intermittent results. So I'm looking for a nice basic easy to use recorder that I can connect my Digital camcorder to, and record directly to DVD (would also use it to record television)
I've been looking at the Toshiba DR3?

    Any Advice Please?

    Many Thanks,

    Bill

Most DV-equipped machines will allow you to do straightforward recording on a DVD. However, a machine with an HDD will allow you to do some editing prior to copying to DVD. If you use Flexible Recording to the HDD then you can High Speed copy (losslessly) to the disc. This will maximise picture quality on the DVD.

    OARDVD,

    Thank you for the advice.

Do you know if these machines will allow you to create a Video CD? For example if you have only a small amount of video to transfer?

Some recorders play VCD but not many record it. Possibly the Lite-on 5006 as it records CD-R/W but not sure.
