dv capture card

    hi all. i need help in picking a dv capture card. i have a jvc 357 camcorder. i dont need anything fancy something basic will probably do. i hear you can get cards that allow you to upload from a video or tv. any ideas?

    All cards are virtually the same and conform to the spec IEEE 1394 (known by Apple as Firewire). The only other issue is that it must be OHCI compliant to give transport control over the camcorder - the vast majority are.

    Increasingly other expansion cards are including Firewire ports as standard - some sound cards for example.

    Select the cheapest you can find that supports the above spec.

    You might try Scan (scan.co.uk) they usually have firewire cards for less than £20 with basic editing software.
