I am tipping towards the direction of purchasing this unit.
I have read all twenty five pages of threads created by Gandley in a forum that went on for over two months.
I refuse to enter or contemplate waiting to buy a Bluray or High Def DVD until the debacle on these players is finally sorted out. Even then there will be issues with with these players as well.
I currently own a Pio 686 and if anyone out there that has made the move from that to the 989 can brief me on the difference other than the price which is 5 times more that I will experience.
I am paying the equivalent of 430 british pounds (includes all taxes) in Australia and that comes with a 5 year extended warranty.It is for a brand new unit still in the box.
I acquired the Pio 686 with an option to trade it in for the full price within
two weeks of purchase.
I also need to know if the 989 plays dvd+r format as all my movies are backed up in this format.
can anyone enlighten me as no store in OZ will allow me to to try before I buy and then return for a refund if not happy
