Does anyone know a reliable dutch DVD site?
I'm proud of your blatency mate
Not sure I understand what you mean, not after adult stuff. Looking for Ichi the killer the only version that will be released uncut worldwide is the dutch. So need to find one.
try enterprisesdvd.com-they seem to be able to get the lesser known and foreign dvds.
if u are after films (US or other) and want dutch DVDs then u should try www.dvdzone2.com they have some dutch DVDs or www.freerecordshop.nl
if however u are after adult films then I can't help u

I ordered the dutch 2 disc Ichi from movietyme = £26.99
Also Cryptkeeper are getting it in - give them an email for details
I can't find "Ichi The Killer" on either DVDZone2 or the various other sites mentioned. I have e-mailed "Cryptkeeper", but otherwise, all were useless. Can anyone provide me with the direct link to this film, on the Movietyme site, please? Failing that, can you tell what features on the 2-disc DVD set, e.g. sound and picture format; extras; subtitles, etc, etc.
I have also mailed them, Im not bothered about the features, just want to see the film uncut.
Heres the link to Ichi on movietyme
Heres the features on the SE (note the audio coms should be on disc 1 - hope its a mistake?)

Thanks for that info and link! Just one question though: the film is censored by the BBFC, and has had about 3 minutes removed, for extreme sexual violence.
As such, how can the disc on the Movietyme site, be a PAL R2 disc, rated "18" and be uncut? Or is the disc from another R2 territory? (Apologies if that sounds like a dumb question.)
I too was hoping DVDZone 2 would be getting this, although they have recently raised their postage costs which has put me off them a bit.
have Ichi (Uncut Dutch version) for pre-order; works out about £20 delivered - That's where I've ordered mine from.
Pooch - This is the Dutch version being discussed and so the '18' will not be a BBFC rating! Holland is also R2.
Thanks for the help. After checking the official Ichi The Killer website, at...
OFFICIAL SITE HERE
... I noted that the red certificate is actually a red "16" certificate, hence you being right about it being not BBFc-approved.
Anyway, I also looked at HK Flix's site, but wasn't impressed, only because once the DVD has left their premises, they don't insure or guarantee it. Hence, any problems with non-arrival of your DVD, and it's tough luck! Not a good business proposition, really, is it?!
According to: Xploitedcinema.com:
"This DVD release will undoubtedly set the standard for all other ICHI dvd releases. The recent Reg 3 DVD release is heavily cut, the UK release will be cut and the Japanese DVD does not have English Subtitles. This is the one to go for!"
So, bar Movietyme, and HK Flix, anyone else know where the 2-disc Dutch Uncut Special Edition of "Ichi The Killer" can be bought from, please? (And if anyone mentions Sazuma Trading, I'll shoot them! Great choice, but an awful company!)
I never seem to read site's T&C; must be too trusting!
Having said that, I've probably had 7-8 orders with HKfilx over the last year & really can't fault their service.
I pay by VISA anyway so in a worst case scenario my purchase would be insured.
Sorry to be such a nuisance, but some questions for you, if I may:
1) How quickly do HK Flix normally deliver to you?
2) Have you ever been hit by Customs on a single-disc order?
If so, by how much?
3) What is their packaging like, that the DVD comes packaged up in?
You could try
They have it listed, i've used them quite a few times, normally deliver inside a week, never had a problem, no customs or missing parcels. etc...
1. 7 days or less
3. Plastic jiffy type thing.
****ing hell HKflix have the 2 disk set of Avalon too for $28.95 instead of over £100 for the japanese version. With these features, Anamorphic Letterboxed 1.85:1; DTS-ES Digital Surround; Dolby Digital EX Surround; Day Of Avalon; Making-Of The Visual Effects; Trailer; TV Spot; Image Library. it sounds Identical to the jap version.
Yep, they have the Korean SE which is supposed to be identical in content to the Japanese Memorial - including there being no English subs on the extras disc. Still tempted, though I might wait for a US/UK release - apparently the recent French release was very good, just no English subs - so maybe a US/UK release will do this film justice as well. BTW, movietyme also carry the Korean SE.
Buena Vista have the UK/US rights don't they? Don't expect anything much from them as regards a release, going on their past performances of releasing Asian movies
1) 1 week if item in stock.
2) No, never.
3) Jiffy Bag
Try this guy
not dutch but cheap
It's not been legally released anywhere on an R0 disc and certainly not uncut with subtitles.
I think it is actually Miramax, though it could be that the theatrical and DVD rights are owned seperately. Still, I can but hope since I've just got a mail from HKFlix stating the there are definitely no English subs on the extras disc...
Thanks again to everyone for their advice on HK Flix. I've just bought (off a friend) an unwanted copy of the 2-disc Korean Special Edition of a new movie called "Phone". It's essentially a variant on the Japanese chiller "Ringu" (or "Ring", in the UK and US).
The film is a Buena Vista / Disney release , which was a surprise, but whilst the film has a superb DTS soundtrack, and English Subtitles, all the extras on Disc 2, are in Korean only, which is such a shame. Moreso, because all the menu options are in English, and NOT Korean!! Really odd, that one!
As such, it looks like I'll be waiting for another release of "Avalon" as well, as I want the extras to at least have subtitles, otherwise there's little point in me buying the set, even with a DTS soundtrack, etc, etc.
Separate names with a comma.
