I just set everything up and sound is going through my sound system, but using, say, YouTube, the sound is only through my TV speakers.

Is this how it's supposed to be? If I'm supposed to be able to hear internet/YouTube though my sound system, then I'll figure it out (I have 2 DVR's hooked up right now, long story).

I don't want to troubleshoot if it's supposed to be through TV speakers only.

    Welcome to the forum.

Many people view posts as they're in the same position. This is a UK based site too so now more members are awake you may get an answer.;)

I don't have your set and use a PS3 for things like YouTube so can't really help sorry. Im guessing if you have sound going to your AV from freeview and blurry etc it may be a limitation of the set, I can only guess though sorry.

Im not sure I am understanding how you have things connected. I assume you have a smart tv connected directley to the internet You then get sound and picture out of your tv. If so thats how it should be. I assume you have an avamp of some sort. So how is the sound supposed to get from the tv to the amp. Are you sending everything to the tv (other inputs pvr etc) and then back to the amp? or are they all connected direct to the amp? Whatever, take a sound output from the tv to the amp from headphone socket, line out, digital sound out whichever is best.

    I apologize, I forgot to say it's Wi-Fi.

I just need to know if I'm supposed to be able to hear the audio through my stereo system from the Wi-Fi TV playing YouTube through the TV's Internet section. I don't see why not, since it only makes sense you should be able to... but i'm troubleshooting right now.

From the vague answers, I'm guessing that yes, sound should come through the stereo system when watching Internet content via Wi-Fi via the TV.

Not via Wifi, no. You need to connect a cable from the audio out of the TV to your Amp.
