Dual Layer Discs

I am about to buy a new dvd drive for my PC, as I need one to read DVD Ram discs to be used in a Panasonic DMR ES20.

Can all dvd players read dual layer discs? I know they can read pre-recorded dual layer discs.

No. Not all DVD players can play DVD-R or DVD+R dual layer.

Most newish DVD players should be OK but the only way you will probably find out is by trying the discs in a particular player.

As far as I'm aware the only DVD players which claim dual layer compatibility are DVD recroders which will record to dual layer DVD's.

I've not seen any play only DVD players which state compability.
