DTS problem for newbie

    I have recently purchased a yamaha dsp-ax620 which seems to be working fine however when i try to play a dts encoded dvd through it i get no sound reproduction, am i doing something wrong, please help

    Hi

    Not sure what you have tried yet, but have you told the DVD player to output the DTS signal? Most DVDs that have DTS and Dolby Digital will play DD by default.

    Make sure the Amp is set to auto. It only takes one slip of a button to set it to analogue only. This would mean you might be hearing dolby prologic surround instead of DD, and you wouldn't hear a thing with DTS. Also make sure the digital input the DVD is plugged into is correctly assigned to the DVD.

    Apart from Greg's suggestion, that's all I can think of at the mo.

    make sure you select DTS soundtrack in audio menu of film.
