    Hi all,

    I have the following setup:
    onkyo htx-22hdx
    Samsung PS50C7700
    Sony bdp -s380

    The problem is that when i watch movies/series with a dts (hd) track, it comes out as pcm instead of dts...

    These are the audio settings of the BR player:
    [Audio (HDMI)]
    [Auto]
    : Normally select this. Outputs audio
    signals according to the status of the
    connected HDMI device.
    ---->Like its now.
    [PCM]: Outputs PCM signals from the
    HDMI OUT jack.

    [DSD Output Mode]
    [On]: Outputs DSD signals from the HDMI
    OUT jack when playing a Super Audio CD.
    When [On] is selected, no signal is output
    from other jacks.
    [Off]
    : Outputs PCM signals from the HDMI
    OUT jack when playing a Super Audio CD.

    [BD Audio MIX Setting]
    [On]
    : Outputs the audio obtained by mixing
    the interactive and secondary audio to the
    primary audio.
    [Off]: Outputs the primary audio only. Select this to output HD audio signals to an AV amplifier (receiver).---->This is how its now, yet no effect..

    So the cable setup is as follow:

    Player--->reciever--->tv..

    Thx for the help :)

    Let's have more details of what "it comes out as pcm instead of dts" means.

    So, pressing the Onkyo Display button never produces anything other than "PCM" regardless of the type of disc you're playing and the specific audio track that you've selected for it?

    With PCM sources the Display button is meant to cycle through three items:
    Source Name and Volume, Sampling Frequency, and Source Name and Listening Mode.
    It shouldn't actually display "PCM" at all.
    This sounds like something you should take up with Onkyo support.

    I had the same problem with a Sony amp and panasonic blu ray player, it always showed linear PCM on the display. It turned out to be a setting on the blu ray player rather than the amp. I can't remember exactly what it was I changed but whatever it was provided dts to the amp. Turning the secondary audio off then enabled me to get dts master audio. I would suggest playing around with the blu ray settings.
