DTS feed through Yamaha 2600

Hi,

I have a Yamaha 2600 being fed from my DVD player via a digital coaxial cable. My question is when I select the DTS sound track on the DVD I get the DTS logo showing on my DVD player, should my amp automatically lock onto this?? Or is it normal that I have to go on to the amp and select the DTS sound field??

In one of the setup menus, there will be an option to "auto detect" the audio feed.
