I have recently setup a 7.1 speaker setup (Denon 3802, Mission FS2AV and Mission 77DS)

I wish to experience the new 6.1 channel formats. Can anyone recommend some discs and the best place to purchase these from?

I have read through the threads on this forum and having read that The Haunting R1 has DTS-ES sound would like to purchase this disc. I have since looked on play where there R1 disc is Dolby Digital 5.1. Future Entertainment have a copy that is DTS but no mention of DTS-ES. Is this copy the one with DTS-ES on it???

Also, is this matrixed ES or discrete??

    Thanks in advance guys

Most of the dts-es titles are matrix not discrete.
Terminator 2 region1 is a good choice and Jurassic Park3 is okay as long as you can stand the film!
There are some sites that used to list DTS-ES and DD-EX titles
    try this one http://www.electronicreality.co.uk/dts_list.htm

How do the 77DS sound in conjunction with the FS2 setup? Do they match up ok? (being a mix of flat pannel and regular)

The Region 1 DTS version of The Haunting includes a 754kbps DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 soundtrack (from a 24-bit 48kHz master created specifically for the DTS DVD).

Two very good soundtracks, aside from The Haunting, for demonstrating the benefits of Dolby Digital Surround EX are Star Wars: Episode One and Toy Story 2.

Daz - The Haunting (ES Version) was the first disc I bought from www.dvdsoon.com as per the following link ...
    http://www.dvdsoon.com/showtitledetails.xml?uid=12373
    I couldnt find a better price $CAN22.60 & about $CAN3 postage - thats just over £11 delivered ...
I have used dvdsoon a couple of times - they are based in Canada & delivery to UK was 4-5 days ...
It's the best ES soundtrack I've heard but be prepared for a pretty average film to go with it ... Paul ;)

Pearl Harbour, despite the flag on the disc, is NOT an EX film. There was a cock up when they encoded the disc and the EX flag was left on from the previous film they were encoding.

The latest version of Highlander - The Immortal Edition (R1) is DTS ES Discrete but is probably the crappest disc I´ve heard in this format with naff picture quality (grainy) as well.
