    Heeeelllllp!

My setup is.. Tosh SD100 (DD/DTS out), Yam RX596 Receiver, Ecosse coax link and Mission Cini 7.

I cannot get anything from my receiver when I set it to DTS for DTS films?

DD works fine and I know a DTS signal is going to the receiver because I can select either DD or DTS from my Tosh.

Can any help before I send the receiver back?

    Cheers!

Have you enabled DTS (bitstream) in the setup of the DVD player (not the DVD disc)?
Have you tried the Yammy's auto-format detect?

Thanx for replying, sadly Yes and Yes.

    Output = Bitstream
Yam = LD/DVD set to AUTO

I know you've probably done it, but when you play the disk (I've only got Gladiator at the moment which is DTS), it comes up with different logo's at the start for DD or DTS. I thing the DTS one is a piano type thing. But this way you can make sure the disk really is putting out DTS.

I am assuming that the Yam auto switches from pro-logic to DD when you play a Dolby Digital sound track.
And i assumme you are selecting the DTS soundtrack from the DVD discs language menu.

Do you get ehe dts logo appear on the front panel of the yamaha?
The only other things i can suggest is make sure all the connections are correct, that you have the digital connection in the right socket on the amp, that the DVD is set to the right output.

Make sure you select the DVD input using the remote on the Amp and that the DSP setting is button one on the remote which is the DD/DTS/AUTO switching one.

I have the same Player and AMp and have no problems with it at all.

Hope something in that lot helped.

To eliminate the obvious, have you been accessing the actual DVD's language/audio menu and selecting the DTS soundtrack before playing the movie?

    Thanx Matt,
I'm sure that the setup is as you suggest but I'll double check before giving the amp the boot.

Thanx Everyone - I now have DTS!

BUT - All I've done is use a different disc with DTS sound track?

The original disc was borrowed (Meet the family) with DTS. I've since swapped it with Gladiator to test all the above again, with the Yammy set to ld/dvd auto, play the film and pop - dts lights up!
