Sorry for the possibly stupid question but is it still possible to get proper DTS or Dolby Digital audio output through standard black and red RCA to RCA cables??? I recently purchased a new TV and AV receiver.... have hooked up the RED/GREEN/WHITE component lead from the DVD to the TV with the BLACK/RED RCA audio cable connecting the audio output on the DVD to the amp. Yet whenever I play my DVDs it doesn't seem to register the DTS or DD signal!! Do I need to have a DIGITAL COAXIAL or DIGITAL OPTICAL lead to hear the proper DTS/DD signal?? My new Yamaha Digital Home Cinema Receiver RX-V350 (Silver) should display the little DTS or DD logo when the signal is going through.... I have seen it display it before because I had a friend's digital coaxal connected when I first bought the unit... thanks for anyone's advice.
