My first post. I’ve been “lurking” for years but this answer's not here yet so I’ve had to get involved!

I’ve made the mistake of itching my upgraditus, namely Dscaler 4.1.8 to 4.1.11.
I’d been feeding my Pio 433MXE1 via DVI, at 60Hz with good results on 4.1.8. The blacks were deep and white was really pushed.

Now I’m getting “slicing” or “ripples” down the screen when an image pans sideways (most notably on PAL video, read BBC1 type programmes).

What causes this? can it be fixed?

first thing to check is if its dropped frames . get the diagnostic screen up on Dscaler (think its either space or enter) and see what the dropped frame count is. If its dropping you need to lower the cpu usage on your machine. ( turn off any filters and see if it makes a difference)

Secondly check and see if you've changed the deinterlacing technique .

Thirdly check if judder terminator is on or off (on is better for your circumstances as you are displaying PAL at 60z)

Thanks Mr.D. I'm, at work so can't try that dropped frame test, but I'm fairly sure it's not one of those remedies you've suggested.
I've got Dscaler set to with other apps but taking priority.
I've tried it with and without judderterminator
    I don't use any filters (why bother it's a Sweetspot :) )
I've always used "adaptive" and previously with no problems

Still it's comforting to know someone else speaks the same language!

    All sorted.
When in FRC mode 2 TV looks great.

When in FRC mode 1, TV get's cut up on pans, some PAL DVDs don't screen, but you do get PIP and XBOX HD works.

So I'll have to switch to mode 1 for xbox playin. No hassle.
