The DS can play GBA games too, so I'd say no contest! :smashin:

You can pick up GBA games for a couple of quid on eBay. Older DS titles can go anywhere from £6 - £13.

If you want to travel light & are quite happy playing GBA games for your hols, you could also consider a GBA Micro, they're mega small & have a nice backlit screen.

One of my main gripes with the original(non-modded) GBA consoles is the lack of a backlit screen, you spend half you time adjusting the angle you hold the thing trying to get some half decent light. The GBA SP also has a lit screen BTW.

Its not the size that bothers me too much, so traveling light isnt a problem.

I find the PS2 too big and the Nintendo DS spot on for size.

Seem to be fetching roughly £60.00 on e-bay...that good?

The screen is so much better on the lite than the normal DS. The DS screen is pretty dull but the DS Lite screen is amazing.

Well they have a brighter screen aswell which is a big plus if you plan to play the thing outside in bright conditions. The DS Chunky(which I have) is almost unplayable outside as the screen is just too dull.

[EDIT] ^^ looks like I got pipped to the post there, shares my thoughts exactly too by the looks^^[EDIT]

I'm soon to upgarde to a DS Lite & then I'll be selling my DS Chunky either here or on ebay. I think it's worth the extra notes personally.

If you are a fashion tart get the DS lite, otherwise I personally feel the original DS has a stronger build quality, although the dimness of the screen means that it can't be played outside.

DS games can be had for ~£20 at movietyme.com, certainly much cheaper than play.com and the high street.

The DS is probably the best console full stop ATM, it gets more attention than my xbox 360.

Yeah, go for the DS Lite. If you plan to keep it longer term, there's too much quality on DS that the GBA misses out on.

DS Lite all the way! I dont play handhelds, but I bought a DS Lite for my daughters birthday and I was very impressed with it. She also had a GBA, so I had something to compare it too. Highly recommended:)

    Curry's in Derby.

They had an offer on for the DSlite and a choice of game (neither choices i wanted)

I asked for SuperMario and the black DS for a special offer price, they refused..... i said it was there last DSlite in black and if they are not interested i'll walk.
A bit of discussion with manager about being a loyal customer, match (a made up) offer at Woolworths etc and i got it for £110.00
