Dropped my S2 down the loo. Thought I'd fixed it but not making calls.

I'm so mad with myself.

Did the usual dry off, rice thing. Hubby took it to pieces and dried it out further. He's an electrical engineer so quite handy.

The buttons at the bottom of the screen weren't working so ordered a new touchscreen cable and fitted that which fixed that problem.

Phone turns on, everything works and looks perfect. But it won't connect to a network. SIM is fine in other phones. Google suggests the ariel may be corroded and need replacing. Hubby has double checked this and says its secure, attached, doesn't look corroded.

Should I give up and get an s4 or worth trying some more? I'm having to use a 15 year old Nokia at the minute so this is serious!

Time for upgrade me thinks. I recently done the same jump, from s2 to s4, and I'm liking the new phone. Screen is lovely.
