Hi,

Is anyone using a 1st Gen drobo to stream video?
Just wondering how it coped, was thinking of picking one up 2nd hand and running it over wireless N. Would be playing both SD and HD video

Thanks
Sam

Hi Sam, Forget streaming HD content over WiFi - either use some Ethernet cable or some HomePlug AV adapters, they'll be much more reliable.
Countless IPTV providers around the world have tried with WiFi - even 802.11n with MIMO and other tricks - and all have decided to hardwire or use HomePlug AV.
Sorry can't comment on the Drobo..! ;)

Well I've been streaming HD over WiFi for about a year now, so that does work..

Just more concerned about the bus speed on the 1st gen drobo, but no-one seems to be using one (?)

Cheers

I dont think they are big sellers to be honest...they dont even show up on the market research for sales .....
