Pretty much a pointless double dip then as there's nothing improved over the original release.

I'll wait for the 16K Dolby BrainJection™ release or maybe the 4K Atmos (crosses fingers)

Definitely one of my favourite "modern" movies, hard to imagine how anyone could think they could improve the score.

      Cheers for the review.

I watched this with the alternative score on BBC 1 a while back. The alternative track is....interesting, even quite good in places. But about halfway in you start pining for the original track which as Cas says, is perfect.

I'd also add that I assume this one has the same transfer as the previous UK release in which case its inferior to the US (region-locked) release which has a slightly better transfer - read up elsewhere on that front. I've got both and the French one for some reason!

This really needs a 4K release and Ill be first in the queue. Easily one of the best films of the last 10 years no question.

Well I too remember watching this edition of the film when it was broadcast, and I absolutely loved it. I thought the music was so much better and gave the whole film a totally different vibe, NOT hollow at all (as slated in the review). I had it recorded on an old PVR and since that gave up the ghost I really have wished they'd have rebroadcast this version, so I'm very much looking forward to getting hold of this once again. Ryan Gosling at his coolest.

ps @Casimir Harlow , your link to buy for ebay at £10.99 took me to a copy of Mulholland Drive, completely different movie.

Pretty pointless re-release. Certainly not one of my favourite films, so on that score I'm out.

Don't see the point in this re release at all. Where is the 4k UHD? I would be all over that.

For me the best collectors edition of Drive is the Nova Media Steelbook with full pink slip. It's just glorious...:D

It is a fantastic slip. But for the complete package I would still go with the Nova release..;)

I'll just stick with the original as I honestly can't think of anything worse than Radio 1 rescoring it with the garbage they play.

Okay, so I’m on my own in liking this alternative version. I won’t be buying it however as I’ve just seen that it’s available to buy on Amazon Prime for £5.99! Yippie!!! I’m so going to watch it again this weekend.

Cheers, Cas - tiz a classic.
I'll stick with as is. It's not exactly Pink Floyd and The Wizard of Oz.

I thought so too at first, but it seems it's just the original version that's free on prime video, this Rescored version is only showing as being available to purchase for £5.99 (still a lot cheaper than buying the BluRay). If you're getting a different result (please post a link, thanks.)

@Casimir Harlow NEITHER of the buy now links take me to the BluRay of this movie.

Already got it on Blu-ray, and I'm not going to double dip just for a pointless alternate soundtrack. As the review and others have said though, where the fudge is the 4K?!

I believe the links are automated, so it must be searching for keyword: "Drive", but I'll see if I can find out why they're so random this time.
