Will I get a better picture if I get a VGA cable for my dreamcast ?
currently I have a projector with a quadscan scaler which has a VGA passthrough socket so it would be pretty easy to setup a new convergence for the dreamcast, just wondering if there would be any picture benefit

Probably. You should get a higher res. output from the VGA output. If you are using RGB at the moment you may not be abel to tell a lot though. Try it and see, then tell us all!
