Just seen the new Dreamcast package being offered by Sega. Seems they're trying to squeeze as many sales out of their last console by offering a fantastic deal.

For £99.99 you get the console and controller, the Visual Memory Unit, the absolutely wonderful Metropolis Street Racer, the also wonderful Jet Set Radio and Virtua Fighter 3tb.

Having played but never owned a Dreamcast, and having played MSR and Jet Set Radio, I would have to say that this is a deal and a half. You can probably get them second hand with more for less, but this is still a very high value package.

It's a shame Sega botched everything up so much, because the Dreamcast is a very good console, and deserved so much more.

I feel a spending coming on.

    What's everyone else reckon?

I'm really tempted - I think the Dreamcast will go down as a great gamers console, but I'm also tempted to put the £100 towards an import Xbox / Gamecube - tricky one

Youve probably already got it but BUY IT!!!

Games and peripherals go at silly prices now- some as low as a fiver.

Games Id recommend- not necceserily because they got great reviews but because ive spent most time on:

    Virtua Tennis
    Sonic Adventure
Dead or Alive 2 (better than the PS2 version, kid u not!)
    Metropolis Street Racer
    Crazy Taxi
Sega Worldwide Soccer Euro Edition- best of a bad bunch

Shenmue is curious- I admire the idea, but the implementation and control method is poor and led me to not enjoy playing it as much as I had anticipated. A shame as a Zelda type control system would have made it brilliant and more playable.
