I now have my Denon 3802 and Mission FS2AV with 77DS surround backs setup?

I am trying the different formats on here for playing back two channel sources.

Which in everyone's opinion is best? Dolby Pro Logic II or DTS Neo6??

    Thanks

    Daz

well, i have a denon avc a1se and that only has neo6. i am more than happy with that and can't see myself upgrading after seeing all the hassle people have gone through. neo 6, imho, is very good, have heard dpl2 in the shops and comapred it to neo6 and couldn't really hear a difference! (wether that was down to poor settin up i don't know)

    Hi

Pro-Logic 2 has the edge over DTS Neo 6, you seem to get some bleed from the front channels into the rear channels with DTS Neo.

On my amp there are more tweaking options for PL2 music mode as well, Panorama, Dimension, Centre width. DTS Neo:Music only has centre width adjustment.

On the other hand DTS Neo does give you some output from your surround back channels (hence the 6.1).

All in all I prefer PL2.

Amp is an upgraded Denon A1SE.

Dolby ProLogic II is clearly superior in my ears as compared to DTS Neo:6, having a more natural tonal balance and cleaner sounding surrounds. In many cases, DTS Neo:6 flattens the sound, instead of expanding it. I like Logic 7 most of all though... :)

I have a 3802 and I think PL2 is the better of the two. Neo:6 just didn't sound 'right' (hard to explain why) but PL2 is very clear.

I keep trying NEO:6 with different video's etc to see if its the tapes but PL2 always seems to win.

Hanv't tried any of the other DSP modes yet though.

PL2 is much better IMHO. Neo leaves me cold.

I've used both Neo:6 and PLII on my 3802

I find them both different but would be hard pressed to say which is better.

For me the Neo does a better job at splitting the L/R whilst the PLII is more Front/Back.

I tend to use PLII more for TV progs but Neo more for TV/VHS movies.

    Just my two penneth

    Regards

The only program I've ever used them on, or found them to be effective is Top Gear otherwise I never ever use either
