Fellow AVFers, am currently comtemplating selling on my Xbox One and going to the dark side. I have half a dozen games downloaded and don't fully understand what happens when i sell tye console.
Am i correct in believing that if i remove my gamertag but don't reset back to factory settings that the new owner can simply redownload the games i've bought?
What if further down the road i buy back into Xbox One. Can i reaccess the games on a new console and will that then affect the owner of my 1st console?

Many thanks for any help with this

The way it's set up is yes, you should be able to reset your console and the guy you sell to should be able to download your games.

As soon as you change your home console designation though: ie. when you buy a new one, the console owner of your first Xbox would lose access to your games.

    Thanx for that munkey.

So if i charge for the games i really need to not come back to xbox one then, or if i do start with a new gamertag/account?

I'd be very wary about charging for the games unless you're willing to include the profile that bought the games in the sale too. Because what you'd be selling you could withdraw at any time otherwise, and I wouldn't be happy if I'd paid money for that.

You would really need to sell/include you gamer tag so the new owner can change the password and control the content. If they keep the console as "your" home console they can play your games but if they download their own games I am unsure if friends can play them on that Xbox as the content would not be on its home Xbox. It's all a bit weird when effectively account sharing, look that up and it might help explain exactly what the new owner will need to do and how it may or may not effect them later.

I just cut my losses and sold mine without the 8 digital games. My mates Xbox one is now my "home" console so he now has access to them. He will be annoyed when I eventually come back to owning one again lol.

Yeah. I have barely touched the ps4 in the few weeks I've had it though. It won't be used for a while yet as well due to being back in pc gaming land.

I swapped my One for a ps4 but only had fifa 14 as a download. I didn't format the box just took my gamer tag off and changed the password and handed it over! And I know I shouldn't really be saying this here but I do like the ps4!! And that's coming from someone who has always had an xbox!
