    Hi,

I am new to this forum. So please bear with me if my query is silly. I have Sony DCR TRV-330E camcorder and XP OS laptop. I want to know how I can download the tapes from the camcorder to my computer and then create a Video CD.

Is this possible and if possible how this can be done.

Advance thanks for your reply and time.

    Thanks
    stardavinci

A search of this forum will throw up loads of threads answering what you are asking, but here are a few pointers to get you off the mark!

To connect you camcorder to the laptop you need to use a firewire connection (aka iLink, ieee1394, DV port).
As you have XP you already have software to capture and edit the footage called Movie Maker. Make sure you have all the latest MS updates and this will give you Movie Maker 2.
I assume you have a CD burner. Therefore you will probably have software for creating & burning a VCD.

    Mark.
