hi..can any guys give me some info concerning upgrade and down grading a psp..
i have a version 2.00 and would like to take it down to 1.5..
also i have bought a couple of games, lemmings, street fighter 3 max
but cannot play them as it requies that i upgrade on both games to 2.6 or something like that..
if i was to upgrade to the firmware to play these games would this mean i then cannot go back to 2.00 or 1.5 if i did downgrade from 2.00 to 1.5..
any info would be very gratefull..
    cheers..
    sithx..:)

You can downgrade from 2.60 and below but NOT from 2.80 which is the latest firmware release and the one you'll get if you upgrade. I do not know if we are allowed to discuss these subjects on these forums due to the legality's.
I downgraded my PSP successfully but took a risk in doing so as every time you do it there is a BIG risk of bricking your PSP (Making it completely unusable and nothing more then a paperweight).
My advice is to google for help on the matter which is what I did.

I've successfully downgraded two psp's, one was a 2.6 and the other 2.0. As long as you follow the instructions (goole for psphacks) then you will be fine!

There are then instructions for an application called devhook that will emulate the newer firmware versions to play the games. There is an install file for this on psphacks. Just search around and you will find it all!
