    LoL - Given you can get better and cheaper laptops from other retailers your question is rather loaded. Given the choice I'd normally avoid SONY as you pay a premium for the name and design, rather than functionality.

    PC World is a expensive retailer.

    thanks for the reply. I totally agree!! But I've got an £800 voucher to spend there so as far as retailers go, there is no choice :smashin:

    Nice - what are you going to use the laptop for? I'm guessing not gaming as neither has a good graphics card. The Sony has a Blu Ray drive so if watching movies is your thing then that will certainly be a bonus.

    The HP has a dedicated t.v. tuner which is handy if you want to watch tv!

    The biggest problem in my eyes with the Sony's, when I had one 3/4 years ago, they had to be mailed into Europe if something goes wrong, and takes 3/4 weeks to get them to send it back.

    I just got the wife a Toshiba p200 for £500, it's very very nice imo ;)
