Looks very uninspired, as someone who completed all doom and wolfenstein games, im going to watch it, maybe.

Any idea what certificate it might be? Anything less than 18 then i'll wait for it on satellite.

Looks about as bad as i expected. Maybe they should bring back double features for rubbish like this - show it with the equally dire looking 'bloodrayne'

I hope its not AvP  but some people like the movie and it did quite well on dvd sales :suicide:

I am quite a fan of The Rock and think he could be a great larger than life action star. I just dont think he has been getting good enough material to work with to make him the next stallone or Arnold. We are sadly lacking big dumd action stars at the moment and even though the latter movies they have made have been dross, I kinda miss, the in thier prime, Van Damns, Segals,Stallones, and Bruce get that dirty vest on willis :)

Damn, they should have kept this as this is excellent in Doom 3 when they appear etc. This would have been excellent in a movie and added a lot to it imo.

    Excellent :smashin:

I read the book that was written based on Doom which I quite enjoyed as it captured some of the feeling of being alone in the head of the last marine trying to save the world. In fact that aspect was one of the great things about Wolfenstein and Doom (the only earlier game where I felt quite that alone against a world of baddies was in the Amiga classic Harlequin).

I don't see how they can get that across as a film though. Pain Elementals and Cachademons are just going to be silly and how can they recreate the horror that was the Arch-Vile and the Revenants? :)

Looks like absolute rubbish...but then I'm not 14 years old, so maybe that's not surprising.

Well, I'm not either, but as a huge fan of the games I was looking forward to seeing how they handled this. Even an 'AvP-alike' would have prompted me to watch.

I too, however, have heard that there won't be the 'demons from hell', though the trailer does seen to indicate the presence of Imps at least...

Doom 3 is even scarier

Very tense action. The sweaty palms give it away.

Are you talking about the final scene on the trailer? That reminded me more of a pink demon. :)

Does anyone think that the final showdown will be against John Romero's head?

I'm talking about the thing that opens the multiple eyes. Looks like an Imp from Doom3 to me. And Razor :hiya: is right. Doom3 made me pap myself. But I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing with the sweaty palms... :D

I've only played Doom and Doom2 so we're probably not talking about quite the same thing. :)

Yeah, the imps in Doom1 and 2 were just link spider monkeys. But I know what you mean. Having watched the trailer again I think I DO see a hint of a pinky in there as well...

As for playing with the headphones on - great idea unless you have got a sadistic bastard living with you who creeps up on you while you're playing it! In my case this was the dog. Trust me, you don't want a cold wet nose nuzzled into you at the wrong time when engrossed in Doom3...

Doom 3 had me sucked in totally, especially the surround sound going  and the lights out. I wonder if the film will have the same suspense

Know what you mean, but I played it to the end. Twice. Then played the follow up. Enjoyed every minute.

I know rumours of the film say that there are no 'monsters from hell' just mutated humans. But, like I said before, some of the clips from the trailer don't look that way to me. I put a couple of slides together for comparison. What do you think?

Apart from the fact that I'm sad and need to get a life, I mean. :D
