I expect all the grief I'm going to get here so fire away.
I have come out to Barbados to do the final commision and calibration on a Barco Cine 9 and Snell and Wilcox Interpolator in what is probably the best equiped cinema I have ever had the fortune to be involved with.
Whilst I was in the air on the way to site the projector had a major tantrum and lost EHT. When I first inspected the unit the fault was obvous either the splitter or Quadrupler neither of which I had with me and not the sort of thing you expect on a brand new projector.
All I can do is sit on the beach and wait for the parts to arrive. The sea temperature is 80 degrees and it is 90 in the shade. Only beer works
The real bummer is that the parts look like being delayed until monday.
I,ve been put up in a very nice hotel which is used as the stop over for all the BA aircrew (including the stewardesses) who sit around the pool. I'm being paid for my down time too.
My signature....... my wife is not really saying too much to me at all!!!!!! Projector doingjust fine.

I'm not jealous at all Roland !

I just got to do the pre-build in Dublin :smashin: and then train Roland to tweak the Interpolator for when he got out there

Maybe if I hadn't done a good job I might have been able to go as well......... Now did I tell Roland about the secret auto memory loss switch

Enjoy the 'work' mate, it's gonna cost a pint or two when you get back!!!

    hi roland,

you definitly have to bill barco for renting a display which could be setuped at the beach. then build/let build a nice beachcinema and get some extracash for entrance.

    don´t get sunburned,

    g.
