Because the frequencies coming from your sub are so large(around 60 a second as opposed to as high has you can hear which is about 19000 a second) unless you room is massive it dont matter also bass frequencies dont bounce off anything unlike higher frequencies so it also doesnt matter were you put it, you wont notice if you put it behind you in the left corner or centreas long as you dont cover the port.

This is also why when a neighbour plays music you hear the bass because all the higher frequencies are bouncing around in their room but bass lower bass doesnt bounce it penetrates like a nuclear explosion stopping at nothing.
So if the neighbour is noisy tell em to turn the bass down, it shouldnt make much difference to them but it may stop you from attempted homocide

    oracleband, two points:

    1. Not sure what homocide is, but don't tell Peter Tatchell! :rotfl:
    2. Don't go on to the subwoofer forum of these message boards and tell the guys there that turning their bass down won't make much difference to them

Bizarre. In one of his other posts, he seems to be offering his services as an audio calibration expert!
