Don't know if anyone's seen this Hulk TV spot yet....
oh dear god this can't be released soon enough!! the cgi looks fantastic
Looking forward to this as well. If it's half as good as Spider-man and X-Men were, I'll love it. Bit worried that Ang Lee is doing it though as it's a different direction for him so it could all go pear shaped.
LMAO. Did you see the bit where the Hulk swings that tank around by the barrel?
I think Adlopa should be congratulated for a great thread title Even if I did only just get it
but that's a classic Hulk move, there always seems to be tanks on hand when he needs to smash things! "Hulk Smaaaaaash puny men!"
I hope he is still going to be followed around by an intrepid reporter with nothing better to do.
i think the teenage mutant ninja turtles have one going spare.
Did you hear the one about Joh Woo directig the sequel to the HULK ?
He said, "Don't make me Ang Lee, you wouldn't like me when I'm ang lee"
But they just dont make gun barrels that strong.
I think you'll find the joke was already made in the thread title
Anyone know when this is expected?
David Banner is believed to be dead and he must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to contain the rage that dwells within him.... Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Que the music
Sarge leave that poor dog alone
Seriously?!? I've watched the trailer about 10 times now and the appalling CGI has totally spoiled my anticipation of this film.
And to think I know someone who's working on it... I'll have to get him to buck his ideas up
I'm not sure about this film. I used to love the series of the Hulk. Let's hope the film lives upto the series.
I agree about the cgi, it just doesnt look right. Im sure this will spoil the film. But we live in hope
It would appear they still can't master the perennial problem of giving the impression of 'weight' to the Hulk's CGI form. From the sequences shown in the trailer, he looks like how characters 'jump' in shoddy computer games, or how those ninjas look at the start of Blade II.
With so many actual body builders these days achieving almost grotesque shapes and sizes, I can't help thinking they'd have been better off using a real person.
Agreed but i doubt many of them good at acting.
sorry folks I was going by the picture at the top of the thread, haven't seen the trailer, did someone say it was on TV?
I think they maybe sticking with Marvel comic book traditions if they are showing the hulk jumping effortlessly... that's always the way they drew him (if that makes sense) and other Marvel characters, momentum and inertia wasn't really a factor for these guys as they were... well... super, much more so than DC characters. Remember the hulk comic character was always much more super than the TV version... he could hop up a few hundred feet and pull a jet fighter out of the sky with no problems.
On a similar matter.... how real should the CGI in comic book adaptations look? These aren't gritty real-life dramas but pieces of pure escapist entertainment. If the Hulk is picking up tanks by the barrel and using them to smash things and jumping miles into the air, then to my mind the Hulk film sounds like its shaping up well and Ang Lee is staying true to the origins of the character.
And a CGI character can act?
(OK, maybe they got Gollum right but the Hulk doesn't really need to show much in the way of shades of emotion)
But, surely it's like perspective... get that wrong and no matter how 'fantasy' the character is, it'll still look wrong and not work properly.
The Hulk must weight a fair amount, he must have an 'imprint'... on the trailer he comes across more like Tinkerbell.
You tell him that!!
I get what you're saying but it looked wrong in the books until readers realised that was how it was supposed to look, he weighs tons but he's super enough to overcome that. It's like Clarke Kent running alongside the train in Superman (looks silly, but that's how its supposed to look), Blade 'catching' the subway train and Spiderman running over rooftops.
As far as Ang Lee directing goes I would n't worry - he seems to be Mr Versatile (& very good) Director ... i.e. "Sense & Sensibility" one moment, Crouching Tigger the next.
Thats what i mean aslo. I mean the hulk is also David Banner, much like spiderman. So i think there has to be a certain amount of realism in there.
ice storm and Ride with the Devil... could there be two more different films?
'Men Behind The Sun' and 'Lilo & Stitch?
Wasn't there a cat in Lilo and Stitch? Alright ya beat me!
As for the Hulk, the comics almost ignored Banner and concentrated on the Hulk (which was more fun) and the TV series concentrated on Banner (which was an easier format) and turned out something that looked like the Littlest Hobbo, damn depressing!!
I hope the film is action packed with the Hulk ripping chucks out of buildings... although with Eric Bana (surely the casting was no coincidence ) playing the doc the Banner bits will be good as well.
Best TV theme tune EVER!!
Theres a voice that keeps on calling me. By the road thats where im going to be..........
