Using the pound off link and the £1.50 voucher I just ordered this region 3 disc for £2.49 from the ever wonderful cd-wow. :D

A bargain if you ask me! (As long as you don't mind the Chinese writing)

That sounds like a good offer - shame you don't mention where you actually bought it from though...;)

Definitely says widescreen on the website.

Apologies for not putting where it was from on the initial version of the post - hence the edit!

For only £2.49 I imagine that I can put up with it only being 1.85:1 non anamorphic

I would pay the extra for the R1 version. I did and its far superior to the R3 one. I had that one and sent it back. Picture qualty is very poor, no extras and its a letterbox version with the actual picture covering only about 1/3 of the screen! The black bars above and below are more like black holes!:D

Agree. The R1 is a fantastic disc, bought for £7.99, but can now be bought for around a fiver with the vouchers.

Having read about other's experiences of this R3 disc I have bowed to the pressure and cancelled the R3.

A superior R1 is now winging its way to me.

Thanks to all who recommended the R1 over the R3....that's what the forums are for I guess.

    CooperUK....chastised and a chump  :D

Many thanks to customer services at CD-WOW who cancelled the original order and replaced my £1.50 voucher!

    Top company.

Trust me Cooper you wont regret it. I bought the R1 and a few weeks later saw the R3 cheap so i thought i'd get that for my bro as i told him about the film (yeah cheapskate i know!). I soon sent it back and got him the R1 version instead! I cant stress enough the chasm between the 2 versions!:D

Where does R2 stand among these? Since it's only £9.99 in the HMV sale down the road.

The R2 version has a few more extras than its R1 counterpart but the question is, is it really worth paying £9.99 for it when you can get the R1 for almost half that? Personally i wouldnt.
