how can i work this out?
anyone know what the pic size would be from 12" away?
Sorry, I don't know the answer, but suggest you also post this message in the Sim2 Forum which is read by some good techie people.
From 12' your image will be 5 - 6.6' wide. You can work this out from Projector Centrals Image calculator http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator.cfm but the Domino 30 isn't listed yet!! Or you can work it out using the throw ratio supplied on the Sim2 site:
1.8 - 2.4 : 1
This refers to the distances from the screen required to give a 1m wide image. So in normal 16:9 mode the projector needs to be between 1.8m and 2.4m away (since you can adjust the zoom lens). To get width from a distance value, divide distance (12') by the two different throw ratios (for min and max zoom) to get min and max screen width.
(if you had a screen size in mind and wanted to now how far away the projector must be, multiply that figure buy the two throw ratios)
follow that link will take you to the charts. This one is for the 300 link which has the same throw as the domino 30
