How can you tell if a disc is FEL or MEL...

On a PC with mediainfo.
There is a list at

Apparently Pitch Black is MEL.

Apparently Pitch Black is MEL.

Well according to that list season 8 of Game of Thrones is FEL and that plays absolutely fine (tested it after the update as before it was super bad (constant black flicker)

So yes FEL plays fine.

@simon194 - can you confirm that Dolby Vision profile 7 FEL discs now play correctly on TV (with Dolby Vision)?

Both types play OK now.
