    can anyone explain exactly what it does, how it works and if its any good.

    Dolby Pro Logic 2 is an advancement on the original Pro Logic. Because of the increased power in processing in modern amps/processors Dolby deviced a new way of extracting the centre and rear channels from 2ch audio.

    This was designed to improve the sound of Pro Logic and bring it closer to the sound of Dolby Digital 5.1.

    Yes it achieves what it set out to achieve. And yes (IMO) it's worth having - more worthwhile than 6.1. Most amps released in the last 2 years will have a Pro Logic 2 mode.
