have i missed the boat on this one,but i have noticed that sky has stopped showing films in dolby digital on sky premier 3 on sky +,and has left only sky premier 1 and 2 using dolby digital, anyone else noticed this or is mine the only one (the epg says its in dolby surround too so it must be them and not my system)

There's a thread about this on Digital Spy too.
I posted on it reporting that although Premier 3 was showing a film on DS, the amp was only decoding it as stereo.
Premier 1 and 2 are OK.

I've just checked every movie on Premier 3 for the next 7 days and not one of them is being broadcast in DD sound.
I also checked specific movies against recordings I have saved - the saved ones are DD and the yet to be broadcast versions are DS.

So, it seems Sky has stopped broadcasting DD sound on 1 of the only 3 channels that had it.

Not surprised they didn't tell anyone as this is a big step back in feature availability.
