Just purchased Metal Gear Solid 2 and was surprised to see the Dolby Digital logo on the box.

Is this game really in Dolby Digital or just the movie clips that may feature ?

I'm obviously hoping the game is in DD but would love clarification on the matter.

Cheers,
Mike.

I borrowed this game a while back and although I didnt play it much the only DD I came across was on the intro/title sequence at the beginning and not in the in game cut sequences, but as I said I didnt play it enough to be sure.

PS2 cannot support DD or proper DTS in game.
There are a couple of games that use DTS but I think it is only 4.0 and not 5.1,SSX tricky is one such title I beleive.

100% correct

Hopefully PS2 developers will catch on with Pro Logic II since thats their only hope for any kind of advance in audio technology. The GC has demonstrated it quite well and I can't see any reason why the PS2 can't do the same.

mosy EA Bog games are DTS (4.0) and Toca Race Driver and Turok are both DPLII (there could be more)..

If you go to the DTS website it tells you what games are in DTS, theres an ice hockey game and some others but not sure if its only 4.0 or not.
