Question Dolby Atmos showing as Dolby Digital +

Whitley Lad

Just finished watching the Fulham v Man Utd game which was showing as being broadcast in Atmos.

My receiver display showed Dolby Digital +

So I then played back an episode of Tin Star series 2 (Atmos) and it also playing as DD+

What have I done lads?

Dolby Digital plus is the lossy version of Atmos that broadcasters use, so all correct.
The lossless Dolby Tru HD Atmos only comes on disc.

Yeah but my receiver is showing DD+ where it used to dispay Dolby Atmos.

1. Check you have a Dolby Atmos-compatible speaker system connected to Sky Q

2. Head to Settings > Setup > Audio Visual on your Sky Q box

3. Select Digital Audio Output HDMI and set to Dolby Digital Plus

I have an old Onkyo 646 receiver that has Dolby Atmos & DTS X. Live 4K footy shows Atmos all the time. It's only when I download TV programmes or movies in 4K with Atmos you have to manually switch the amp to Atmos. It just shows DD+ otherwise
