Yves is a cool guy, I met him in Spain in '98 when he was developing his early unpowered wing and helped him rig up an anemometer to a minidisc recorder to record horizontal speeds.
I met him again in Vichy in 2000 and he had just about perfected the fixed wing for unpowered freefall use, and he was really getting flying the thing nailed down.
Back then he was still a 'proper' jet pilot in the Swiss air force and showed me some very cool footage of some of his flights around the alps, scary close to large mountains!
I guess strapping some ram jets to his wing was inevitable.
