does v+ box ever turn off?

when i turn my box off it shows the big eye shaped light, the fan still whirls ten to the dozen, and it still generates heat as if it was on.
is this normal? it just seems a bit backwards as the big eye shaped light goes off when in use and on when turned off!

It does go quiet after a few minutes. I put mine into standby every night, and it whirrs and clicks for a few moments before settling down and emitting no noises.

That big fish eye light is annoying and lights up the room when it is in standby. t's a feature of the product I'm afraid. There is no option to turn it off.

I found myself leaving the V+ box on last night, as it was lighting up the whole of my bedroom with its stupid light. Why light it up like a xmas tree when its OFF?!

Fan? There isn't one. It's the HDD spinning and mine goes off after 1min on standby.
