Does This Accessory Exist?

Im after something that I can use to keep my zoom lens upright when Im walking around. I hate leaving it "dangling" as it whacks my small children on the heads and manages to bash every thing in close proximity! Ideally, Id like a strap that has a velco loop so that I can stow it vertically for short periods - i.e pointing upwards. I hope Im explaining myself right! Imagine wearing your camera on a normal neck strap but having a device which allowed you to fasten the camera and lens "upright" for short periods???

I seem to remember a glimmer of seeing something like this in a mag many moons ago??

Anyone seen / heard of such a thing???

How are you placing the strap?.If its just hanging around your neck its bound to flail around.
Have you Tried Placing it around your neck and then putting your arm through the strap.It should sit on your hip quite securely without bobing around.You can just swivel it around when you need it(so the strap is under your armpit).This can help steady your hand held shots too ,if the strap is of an appropiate length.
