Does the Panny TH-42PA20 support Progressive 480p?

The manual says under 'Scanning format' :

525 (480) / 60i - 60p, 625 (575) / 50i -50p

I dont know what the above means but it has 480 there

The 480p i want is NTSC but i cant tell if the tv supports it. I want to be sure before i get the component leads.

Yes. It accepts these signals:-

480i/p, 525i/p, 576i/p, 625i/p, 720i/p, 1125/1080i

i is Interlaced, p is Progressive.
