Does the Bose headphones with the "Noise Cancelling" really worth it?

The sennheiser ones were highly rated in a review a few weeks ago I saw ... bit cheaper - worth a listen ..

Well they are considered one of the best noise canceling options availible.

What situation are you going to use them in?

I've been using Bose noise cancelling headphones for many years, and they have been excellent. I travel alot and use them on trains and planes, and in that environment they can't be beat. They are superbe at reducing that low freq. drone that is so draining! So if you travel and want a quiet zone, then buy them. I don't use them about the house, so I have no feedback to help in that environment.

much as i love the Bose, if it was my money, i'd go for the Sennheiser HD25-1's. unless you're constantly traveling on trains or planes, then the HD25-1 does a good enough job of eliminating ambient noise.
