Does sound proofing improves sound?

I am going to build one of my roofs in my house this summer so I am getting some information.

This is the question:

Does soundproofing improves sound?

Do you need to soundproof all the walls?

There is not an issue of neighbours but I want to take the best out of my system?

After the room then I am all for upgrading my system.
