My daughter is moving house. She has a Sky+ package including sports at her current address. As a short term solution, can she just take her boxes with her (and the cards) and they will still fully work. If not fully, what will she lose?
Is the best idea to cancel her Sky (but leave phone and BB at her current address) and take out a new Sky+ multi room at her new accommodation. At the moment, she gets multi room thrown in for free?

Yes it'll work fine. If out of contract use the house move as a bargaining tool...

The answer to your question is that it depends on what you mean by fully!
If there's a working dish then it will get all the channels, but for some there's more than that.

    Thanks for the replies chaps.
@logi. Yes, working dish at new house. If her boxes will work OK, apart from any internet stuff, that will give her time to sort out contracts etc with Sky and takes the pressure of getting it sorted now. They are renting out their house and I suspect that she will have to leave the phone and broadband and it's up to her to sort out who pays.

@kev. I realise that internet stuff won't work for a bit, but what is on the internet service?

The internet provides everything the satellite doesn't, so downloads of anything such as BBC Player.
    Exactly. :rotfl:

Right then, thanks again guys, I'll pass on the wisdom of AVF to her.
So did I kev. But I just put it down to logi's oddness.:clap::rotfl:. I think that I realised that the internet stuff wouldn't work, but was not sure what the internet provided on Sky TV.

Sky is unusual in that catch up services are downloaded in original quality to your hard drive,

This means it's possible to use a relatively slow internet connection and you get HD. Of the conventional catch up free streaming services only BBC iplayer offers HD content.

Much of the UHD content available for Sky-Q is IP delivered.
