Quick question folks... having finally convinced the missus its time to convert from the Sky digibox to Sky +.... I have a practical question to consider... as I have a conduit running from loft, inside the wall, down to my TV etc, and it is tight with cables now... I need to know if there will be the need for 2 cables to run from the dish to the digbox ??

I am assuming yes as with 2 LNB's I think for sky + ... it would make sense.

N.B. been reading some worrying things about Sky + here... would anyone advise "not to buy" at this time ( should I wait a while maybe ! ).

    Thanks Phil

    Sky+ does use 2 cables.

It needs both so you can watch one Sky channel while recording a different one.

Never tried to run it with only one cable, guess it might be possible, but it would reduce the functionality somewhat.

sky+ is fed from an dual cable (two cables stuck together)
each of these cables is smaller than the original sky cable

the diameter of the sky+ dual cable is roughly the same size as the old cable

    hope this has helped

That rather depends on who does the installation.

If there is no exisiting cable then they may well run the single 'shotgun' style dual cable.

If you already have a Sky digital installation then they may just run another single cable.

If you need the 'shotgun' style cable then do make it clear to who ever is doing the install up front.

Many thanks... thats just what I needed to know... sounds like the dual cable would be ideal for me.
