Does anyone know if the Namco Guncon2 for the Playstation 2 is compatible with any Plasma displays? I know the Guncon2 supports some projectors/100hz tv's.

I suspect not but have not been able to find any info either way.

Unfortunately, light guns do not work with plasma screens.

Light guns work by the game flashing the screen and the gun detecting the timing between the outgoing video signal and the light entering the gun. That means it is dependent on the way CRT's scans the video fields line by line. Non-CRT displays don't scan the same way so the light gun can't figure out what point of the screen is being displayed at a particular time. The compatibility with 100Hz sets is created simply by establishing a timing reference separate from the video signal itself.

I think there will eventaully be light guns using CCD cameras and image recognition. But that's probably a few years ahead.
