    hi all,

I've just compared two models and I noticed that Pio mentioned about
"new high-quality MPEG encoder" ONLY with DVR-433 !?

    http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/product_compare.jsp

What id the difference between "old MPGE decoder " and the over mentioned new one ?

Is that correct that 530 doesn't have the latest MPGE decoder ?

    Cheers

    Hi

It's just marketing, all the current range use the same encoders as far as I know.

    Regards

All the new Pioneer models, bar the top-of-the-range DVR930, use exactly the same encoder. The premium you pay for the 530 and 630 models is for larger HDDs, Guideplus licence and a few other minor tweaks/modifications (e.g. handset).
