    Hi,

I'm thinking of changing my Philips DVDR890 for a Panasonic recorder (probably E60). However I have a collection of DVD+R and +RW disks. I know they obviously won't record on the Pannys but do they play??

    Cheers.

Haven't used the E60 yet but other Panny recorders generally play DVD+R fine but, with a few exceptions, do not play DVD+RW. Having a look at the review of the E60 in HCC shows that "formats supported" include DVD+R but not DVD+RW - I know these aren't always that accurate but, in my experience, they tend to over-estimate what it can play, not underestimate it. Which would suggest it will not play DVD+RW disks.

    cj28,
I have shelved the 890 for an E50, I still use a Sony 990v front end and have no problems, what I have done though is buy an S75 to dub RAM to dvd-r and they play on that also.
